Soggy Second Half of the Week for the East
The combination of a slow-moving trough and a surge of humid air will lead to widespread showers and drenching thunderstorms from Wednesday to Friday over a large part of eastern Canada, especially from southern Ontario to southern Quebec.
The ECMWF model 60-hour rainfall total forecast through Friday in inches is shown above. Note the model is indicating the possibility of over 1.5 inches (38 mm) of rain during the period from near Lake Ontario through much of southern Quebec with localized amounts in excess of 2 inches (50 mm) possible.
The bulk of the rainfall for Ontario will be during the Wednesday through early Thursday period, while Quebec will see most of it's rainfall during the Wednesday night to Friday period.
