My latest thoughts on Canada's long-range weather pattern into August
<strong>The rest of this week through next week</strong>
--Significant cool shot into BC and the Rockies Friday into Saturday with some rain. The air may be cold enough for wet snow in the highest spots of the Coastal Range Friday into Friday night and into parts of the Rockies Friday night into Saturday. Passes will just be wet.
--On the flip side, much of Atlantic Canada will be unseasonably warm this weekend through at least the first half of next week due to a strong high pressure ridge sitting out over the North Atlantic.
--Dry weather will likely prevail across Quebec and New Brunswick through this weekend.
--The pattern will turn wet across Ontario later this weekend as a trough sets up over the Great Lakes.
--Showers and thunderstorms will become increasingly common from eastern Ontario through Quebec the first half of next week with the potential for locally heavy rainfall.
--Temperatures will average below normal across much of the Prairies next week.
--Much warmer weather may return to BC the week after next week.
