Humidity and shower activity to increase this week in the Northeast
The pressure analysis shows a high pressure area off the East Coast. A moist south to southeast flow of air will replace the current moderate humidity and fair weather with more humidity and an increased chance for showers and thunderstorms.

The overnight GFS forecast for the period from today through Saturday shows heavy rain for much of the East. The heaviest rain this week should be west of where it was last week.
