A major nor’easter will bring snow to the New York City area from late Saturday night through Monday. As snow overspreads the area, some of it will initially melt on streets and highways. Streets will become snow-covered Sunday night to Monday morning, when blizzard conditions are anticipated. Snow totals of 6-10 inches are expected in and around the city. Heavier snow is forecast for eastern Long Island and along the central and southern coast of New Jersey, where totals may surpass a foot. Power outages and coastal flooding are possible with this major storm.
