Pucon, Chile
If you are looking for some southern hemisphere beauty, then you will surely want to visit Pucon. A beautiful small town located on the beach of Lake Villarrica, everything about Pucon in the winter is magical. The highlight would be skiing off of one of the most active volcanoes in South America, Volcan Villarica.

Ogden, Utah
If you like skiing powder, then you are going to want to visit Ogden. Located in the northern part of the state of Utah and just a 30-minute drive from two of the best ski resorts for miles, you can ski your heart out at Powder Mountain or Snowbasin Resort and never be bored. Utah is famous for having the best snow on earth.

Bariloche, Argentina
Bariloche is a Patagonian classic. With the Cerro Catedral ski center just a few minutes up the road, you are sure to have a blast in the south of Argentina. Warm gondola rides and steep powder skiing is just a plane ride away.
Chamonix, France
You have not experienced winter until you have visited Chamonix. It is home to some of the steepest terrain in the world. Chamonix is a mecca for ice climbing. You can also take your family on some of the most epic winter tours in Chamonix.
Andorra, Spain
If you are looking to go to Europe and stay further in the south, then Andorra is a great option. With tons of different ski lifts and terrain to choose from and quick access to the Mediterranean, Andorra is ideal for winter vacations.

Geilo is primarily a ski resort town populated with only a couple thousand people year-round. Take your family on one of the most epic of getaways to the north of Europe and learn about the roots of Nordic skiing in one of the best winter towns Norway has to offer. One of the most epic destinations you could take your family.

Skiing at Grand Targhee Resort in Wyoming is the epitome of winter fun. Alta is a place that is fun for the whole family, with a large part of Grand Targhee devoted to teaching the little ones how to ski. Traveling to Alta is an affordable destination if you are living in the United States, as lift tickets are relatively inexpensive, and the experience is world-class.
