Must-have thermal clothes to survive this winter

There's no way to escape the bitterly cold winter temperatures. If you're someone who spends a considerable amount of time outside each day, the cold temperatures can feel pretty brutal. Whether you're a jogger or someone who has to take public transportation to work, there's no reason you need to freeze every single time. The key is to wear the proper attire. With the right clothes, you'll feel like a toasted marshmallow every time you step into the cold. Consider the following must-have thermal clothes to survive this winter.

Heated Socks

There's nothing worse than numb feet. When you've been drudging through lots of snow, your feet will feel the pinch of the cold. If you've checked the weather forecast and know that snow is on the way, order a pair of heated socks. The technology behind heated socks is a little complex, but they do the job of keeping your feet warm. From the time you place them on your feet, you'll feel the difference. If you're spending time on the ski slopes or quickly walking to the bus stop, heated socks will work well for keeping the feet at a comfortably warm temperature.

Thermal Turtlenecks

When it comes to fashion and comfort, there's nothing sleeker than the classic turtleneck. It's easy to match with a skirt or a pair of jeans. Thankfully, there are plenty of thermal versions that both men and women can wear. You can wear it with a blazer or underneath a nice cardigan. You can even opt to wear it on its own. Look for a thermal turtleneck that's comfortable and lightweight. In general, turtlenecks work well because they keep the neck protected. They also eliminate the need for a scarf if you don't feel like wearing one.

Adjustable Hoodies

Even though manufacturers make some stylish coats, those coats don't always come with hoods. If you look at the classic pea coats, they don't have hoods. While you can wear a stylish fedora or beret to keep your head warm, there are times when you might want something thicker. Thankfully, you can purchase an adjustable hoodie. The adjustable hoodie will work with most coats. You can choose to purchase one in a color that complements the coats you have as well.

Thermal Underwear

When most people think of thermal clothing, they think of long johns and quilted-style undershirts. However, thermal underwear has evolved. While you can still purchase the thick, quilted leggings and undershirts, you can now buy thermal underwear that looks like incredibly chic gym attire. To take things up a notch, many thermal underwear options look good enough to wear on their own. You can find leggings, long-sleeve shirts, and other pieces that are both thin yet thermal. When you wear layers, you don't want to feel like you're wearing an uncomfortable, puffy snowsuit. Thankfully, these options are sleek enough to fit underneath your clothing without making you feel like you need to remove a few layers. If you prefer the onesie, you can kill two birds with one stone with that type of thermal underwear as well.

Heated Gloves

Heated gloves are amazing for several reasons. However, the top two reasons are price and range. First, you can find heated gloves at a variety of price points. If you'd like to purchase battery-operated heated gloves, you can invest a bit more money than you would if you bought a pair of heated gloves that contain a thermal lining. The range of options is another reason why heated gloves are so phenomenal. You can find them in a variety of colors, styles, and shapes. If you prefer a bulkier glove when you're shoveling snow, there's plenty to choose. If you'd prefer an option that's sleek and stylish, you can find a pair that don't even look like heated gloves.

As all of these items are great essentials for the winter months, it's also important to remember that layering is key. Once you're exposed to the heat of the indoors, you don't want to feel overheated. If you're heading to work, you can take off some of the layers once you arrive at your desk. Though this task might seem arduous, your health and protection are worth the effort. When you're not physically exposed to the cold in a way that's harmful to your health, you'll be able to enjoy more time without catching the flu.
