AccuWeather Global Weather Center - January 5, 2017 - AccuWeather, the global leader in weather information and digital media, today announced new AccuWeather MinuteCast® benefits for users worldwide, providing the next level of weather innovation from the most accurate, actionable source of forecasts and warnings in the world.

AccuWeather MinuteCast now helps people remain more informed during their travels with MinuteCast Along A Route™. The new MinuteCast Along A Route feature seamlessly integrates patented MinuteCast minute-by-minute hyper-local forecast data with real-time navigation services based on a user's customized route, available in Connected Car services with leading automotive manufacturers worldwide. In addition to providing forecasts for rain, snow, ice, and mixed precipitation, AccuWeather MinuteCast now includes hail in its minute-by-minute forecasts, available at www.AccuWeather.com and award-winning AccuWeather apps. It is available for free to users in and traveling to the Continental United States, Canada, Japan, Korea, United Kingdom, Ireland, France, German, Belgium, Switzerland, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Spain, Scandinavia, Gibraltar, Liechtenstein, and parts of the Czech Republic, through AccuWeather mobile and desktop sites at www.AccuWeather.com, as well as award-winning AccuWeather apps for Android, iOS, and Windows phones. The patented feature was most recently launched on the AccuWeather Android app, expanding the availability of MinuteCast across all leading digital platforms.

The patented AccuWeather MinuteCast is the world's leading minute-by-minute precipitation forecast hyper-localized to a user's exact street address or GPS location, providing forecast updates with Superior Accuracy for the next two hours. Precipitation types include rain, snow, ice, mixed precipitation, and newly added hail conditions. AccuWeather's proprietary technology also enables MinuteCast data and display outputs to be customized based on where the information is displayed, making it easy for app developers to integrate this unique, high-demand weather content for use across platforms, from smart watches to mobile websites. AccuWeather's localized, contextually-relevant forecast content is tailored to each partner and device, personalizing the weather so people can improve their lives.

A first-look of the new industry-leading MinuteCast Along A Route smart weather technology was held at the 2016 TU-Automotive Show in partnership with NNG, provider of navigation software and infotainment solutions, and most recently announced by Mitsubishi Electronics Automotive America, Inc. (MELCO), a partner whose vehicle infotainment system has incorporated the patented MinuteCast Along A Route API.
