...HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH LATE MONDAY NIGHT... * WHAT...Dangerous rip currents. * WHERE...East facing reefs of the Marianas. * WHEN...Through late Monday night. * IMPACTS...Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A significant easterly swell produced by a trade-wind surge upstream is generating higher surf across the Marianas, which in turn is producing a high rip current risk along east facing reefs. This elevated trade swell is likely to persist for several days, before the trade-wind surge weakens slightly around the middle of next week, allowing the rip current risk to drop to moderate along said reefs. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help. &&
