...HIGH SURF ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 AM CHST WEDNESDAY... ...HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK NOW IN EFFECT THROUGH LATE TUESDAY NIGHT... * WHAT...Large breaking waves 9 to 11 feet and dangerous rip currents. * WHERE...For the High Surf Advisory, north facing reefs. For High Risk of Rip Currents, north and east facing reefs of the Marianas. * WHEN...Until 4 AM ChST Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion. Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A large northeast trade swell is generating hazardous surf and high risk of rip currents along north and east facing reefs. Hazardous surf along east facing reefs has fallen below the 12 foot threshold, however the risk of rip currents remains. Based on an anticipated slower decrease of seas and swell, have prolonged the surf advisory and high risk of rip currents another 12 hrs, until early Wednesday morning. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Rip currents will be life threatening. Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help. &&
