Freezing rain tonight across Southern Quebec, and on Thursday over Central and Eastern Quebec.
A warm front is generating a band of freezing rain over Southern Quebec. The freezing rain will push toward Quebec City tonight, then eastward on Thursday.
Ice accretion will be more significant over areas just north of the St Lawrence River, where 5 to 15 millimetres are expected. Amounts could be even higher north of Quebec City and over Charlevoix and the North Shore.
Freezing precipitation will change to rain over southern regions tonight or on Thursday due to mild temperatures. However, freezing rain will continue over several regions east of Quebec City through Thursday evening.
Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.
Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
