Here's an example of what happened in Missouri Thursday night:

A trampoline hangs from a tree in a Kirksville, Mo., Friday, March 31, 2006, after heavy thunderstorms and strong winds moved through the Kirksville area during the night. A line of thunderstorms and tornadoes tore up homes, knocked down power lines and injured several people as it moved across the Midwest. The storms pelted towns with golfball-sized hail and damaged property in Kansas, Missouri, Iowa and Nebraska late Thursday, authorities said. (AP Photo/Kirksville Daily Express, Al Maglio)

Tornadoes were reported near Indianapolis last night (CNN report | NWS reports) More severe weather is expected this weekend. The NWS has issued Moderate Risk areas in similar places as the red areas in our graphics below.
