Will Rain Threaten Trick-or-Treating?
Will the incoming showers dampen your Trick-or-Treating outing tonight? If you live east of here (Central PA) on the East Coast, I wouldn't worry too much about it.
If you haven't seen it yet, Henry (PREMIUM | PRO) has a spooktacular video about trick-or-treating weather today.
Although the line of rain coming through Ohio now looks pretty solid...
Dry air is in place (humidities are in the 40's and 30's) and we'll see this one fall apart as it moves across the mid-Atlantic and down the mountains, further drying the air. The farther east you are, the better. Don't be fooled by the radar too -- some of this rain will not be reaching the ground. If you're close to the center of a Local Radars (PREMIUM | PRO) site, be sure to check that for a dose of reality (too far from the center and the radar will be looking too far up).
Our official forecast has the rain breaking up as it moves across the state around 7 PM:
The RUC forecast model shows no precipitation, of course it doesn't think it's raining now either. From nothing comes nothing. The model which is keeping the rain together the best is the NMM, which shows it still solid, though delayed in western PA only around 7 PM. But remember, that green color is only one-one-hundredth of an inch -- no biggie for ghosts or goblins. Although the Southeast will also have a chance of rain, most of the rest of the nation will be dry for trick-or-treating.
