White Christmas Hype Update - 2 Days Left!
With only two days left until Christmas morning, it's only looking like a White Christmas in the typical areas, in fact if you compare the two maps below, it's almost right on the money as far as historical average, save the southern Appalachians, which are mostly dry and snow-free. Another exception is the Central Plains which have a 5 to 25% chance of a White Christmas, but were blanketed by snow yesterday.
Join me on Christmas day for an animation of the last two weeks of GFS Forecast Model [JessePedia] predictions, so we can find out how bad the initial forecasts were, and how they progressed over time.
