Weather Illusion I: November Rain
It's hard to hold a candle
In the cold November rain
-- Guns N' Roses, "November Rain" (Album: Use Your Illusion I)
Truer words were never spoken to describe today's weather in Central Pennsylvania.
If you own this CD, load the song now (swaying with your lighter is optional). I personally believe that this was G&R's greatest accomplishment (how can you beat rock guitar idols combined with a full orchestra and a $1.5 million video)?

AccuCam At 2 PM Today
I just got back from lunch and let me tell you that it is as dark as 5 o'clock on a winter day out there. The wind is howling and the rain is soaking. One wonders if Axl (or whoever wrote the song) took that into account. Rain that falls in November is often 1.) Cold and 2.) Accompanied by wind. You can see from the radar shot below that our city (State College, Pennsylvania) is socked in and they've even issued a Flood Watch now.
Even our Davis Vantage Pro Weather Station is amused -- Davis is not known for their humor so I was surprised to see the "current weather report" screen saying "It's raining cats and dogs" just now, but it's warranted; the rain gauge is detecting rainfall at nearly an inch per hour (view observations from our station and check our weather cam).
But of course...
Nothin' lasts forever
Even cold November rain
Speaking of "Use Your Illusion" double-disk set, you might ask if I ever attempted to sing the 35-second extended note Axl sung on "Don't Cry"? Only once, back in college while chasing nighttime thunderstorms through Tennessee.
