Weather Guy Has Windows AND Blinds
Blog reader Alissa pointed out today that, while as a weather enthusiast and meteorologist, surely the wonder of sitting in front of a tall window in my new office must not be lost on me. Yet frequently in the J-CAM you will see me close the blinds.
What gives?
The truth is, the sun really beats in those windows after noon, heating up the office considerably. So, for now the window blinds will probably only be open on cloudy afternoons.
Being the geek that I am, I have created an image which tracks the temperature at my desk. This image is shown below (it updates once an hour):
I'll get that imaged linked in from my left navigation soon so you can refer to it later.
Notice that it's quite comfortable in the morning and evening but the temperature really spikes up during the afternoon, despite the blinds. Hopefully it will not have as much of an effect during the summer, when the sun's position is higher in the sky.
