Wavetastic: Weekend Storm Will Power Up in Gulf
UPDATE: The AccuWeather.com story has been picked up by Offshore Magazine. The wave model now shows 18-footers off the coast of North Carolina (and later >21 feet at sea) so we will definitely have to monitor the buoys and the Outer Banks webcams this weekend.

The weekend Nor'easter we're predicting will get its start in the Gulf of Mexico, and it could have a big effect there that may not be covered well by the media ahead of time. AccuWeather.com Professional's Joe Bastardi says "this is like a minimal tropical storm in the Gulf as far as winds and waves."
Here is the wave height prediction from our Pro site for Saturday evening... looks like we might have to watch the buoys this weekend.
