Video, Radar of KS Landspout
The NWS reports today that a landspout hit Newton, Kansas on Saturday.
A landspout (wikipedia) is essentially a weak tornado that forms over land without a thunderstorm (not unlike their sisters, waterspouts which form over water).
At right is a radar image from AccuWeather.com RadarPlus, showing three small rain showers from whence the landspout came. The location where the storm occurred, according to the NWS, is plotted with an "X".
