Video: Parkersburg Tornado Vs. Bank
UPDATE: I have found another video taken from this bank's ATM showing houses being destroyed across the street.
ORIGINAL ENTRY: Carl scooped me on this when I was out yesterday with a bad shoulder, but based on popular demand, here is the surveillance video where you can watch the Parkersburg tornado (see Categories: Parkersburg Tornado at right) all but destroy a bank (repeats twice - click here to download* a higher resolution 6MB video). My favorite part is the big explosion you see outside right before the windows get blown in. As Carl said, I'm surprised the camera lasted so long.
VIDEO CAPTION (KCRG): Video surveillance footage from First State Bank during the tornado in Parkersburg. Watch the video as the EF-5 tornado crashes into the First State Bank in Parkersburg. The bank was empty, but the surveillance cameras rolled on the disaster. On May 25th, severe weather caused at least six tornadoes in eastern Iowa. The most damaging one wiped out hundreds of homes in Parkersburg, Hazleton, Dunkerton, and New Hartford. Seven people died. It was the strongest tornado to hit Iowa in more than 30 years.
