Video, Maps: Kansas Walloped By Flooding
As much as 10 inches of rain fell near Wichita, Kansas yesterday and last night, and that was after some areas in the western part of the state got as much as 8 inches during the previous 24 hours, according to the NWS Hourly Gauge-Adjusted Doppler Precip Site. NWS reports indicated 7.9" in 24 hours at Le Roy, KS.
The culprit: large areas of thunderstorms, or MCS's [JessePedia] that have moved over the state during the past two days. Needless to say, this caused some major flooding. Here is some video from Wichita yesterday:
