Updates: Tropics, Taiwan, Soil, Flooding in PA
I'm very busy today so just two things. One, I have updated my last three blog entries this morning:
- "Last 4 GFS Tracks for Atlantic Hurricanes" was updated with a new prediction map for all three storms by us.
- "9.5 Feet of Rain in Taiwan Vs. World Record" was updated to add maps that I got permission to use, and to show the 2, 3 and 4-day totals from the official station that got the most rain, and to link to an AP article quoting the floods as the worst there in 50 years with over 14,000 rescued.
- "Unusual Soil and Tree Moisture in New England" was updated with new maps, the maps had inadvertently cut off New England.
Also, we had some great storms last night here in State College, Pennsylvania, home of AccuWeather HQ [Google Map]. - my cohort Joe Lundberg also has some thoughts on the "susprise" storms which I'll elaborate more on tomorrow. I have uploaded a few photos here of flooding and clouds, and will blog more about this soon. Selected flooding pics shown below.
