Update - Winter Forecast Coming Soon!
UPDATE: Wednesday morning, I will be attending a workshop at AccuWeather where Joe Bastardi will present the AccuWeather.com Winter Forecast. At that time, I may be able to give you a clue or two, in advance of it being issued later this week (hopefully, see below). Brett Anderson issued a quick idea (PREMIUM | PRO) on his Canada winter outlook last month and will issue a complete forecast near the end of October.
The truth is, our clients got our winter forecast last week, and if you have a business that absolutely needs it as soon as possible, check out our Joe Bastardi Commercial Services. I am not allowed to release the forecast here until it's cleared for AccuWeather.com, but I'll give you one quote from J.B.: "I am having a romance with the 1985-1986 winter season."
Several Comments have been left below, so let's keep up the conversation. If you would like to enter your own winter forecast, post it to the Forums.
ORIGINAL REPORT:
The AccuWeather.com 2008-2009 U.S. Winter Forecast is not out yet. But I wanted to post here because a number of you have asked about it. I have been told by the powers that be that we are working on it, and hope to release it this week (remember last year, though, we waited until October 23rd).
Meanwhile, our very own Meteo Madness Man (PREMIUM | PRO) has come out with his own Winter Forecast, which may or may not agree exactly with AccuWeather's.
Below, I compare Henry's map to a normal snowfall map, so you can see if you're area will be above or below normal.
The NWS has not issued theirs yet either; they issued theirs last year on October 18th. AccuWeather.com Canadian expert Brett Anderson (PREMIUM | PRO) issued a forecast about this time last year, and I presume will do so again soon.
So: Stay tuned.
P.S.: If you intend on criticizing last year's winter forecast in my blog, I will entertain that, but please back it up with specific numbers and/or quote other winter forecasts that were correct. If you want to criticize Henry, go to his blog :)
