Tropical Depressions 15, 16, Nana, Omar?
If you're confused about the Tropics this morning, there are a lot of things happening, according to The NHC [JessePedia], who is responsible for naming and numbering our Tropical and Subtropical weather systems. Here's what we've got. I've updated this graphic that was issued this morning:
1. Tropical Storm Nana became Tropical Depression Nana last night, and has now dissipated. 2. The Tropical Low east of Central America has become Tropical Depression #16. 3. Tropical Depression #15 has become Tropical Storm Omar.
To make things even more complicated, AccuWeather.com Professional's Joe Bastardi [BIO] (PRO USERS READ NOW | 30-DAY FREE TRIAL) said this morning that the Tropical Low to the southeast of Former Nana should have been named Nana originally, because it was the stronger system (and still is).
The good news is that none of these systems are expected to become strong, or affect the United States, according to the Model Spreads [JessePedia] this morning.
