Tornadic Supercells Rake Tennessee
UPDATE: Keep an eye on Nashville weather cams & webcams here.
Early this afternoon, supercell thunderstorms started racing across northern Tennesse, in some cases hitting the same areas that were devastated last Sunday night.
At 1:00 PM, the Nashville NEXRAD Radar reported hail in excess of 4 inches in diameter, along with several hook echos (tornadic indicators). CNN reports multiple confirmed tornadoes in the area. Lots of lightning -- nearly 25,000 strikes in two hours on the Nashville scope alone.
