This Week is the Anniversary of Many Hurricanes
This week is the anniversary of dozens of different hurricanes, according to WikiPedia -- and that's not including Tropical Storms! It makes sense... after the maximum of storms at one time (in early September), it follows that a lot of storms would be making landfall a week or two later. Brian McNoldy of the University of Miami recently updated his "Daily Average Number of Active (Tropical) Storms" graph, and I've highlighted this period below:
