The Great Cape Cod Snowstorm of 2008
UPDATE: Here's a radar loop of the event:
Here's a plot of 24-hour snowfall at 7 AM from NOHRSC, what an amazing localized event.

Offshore buoys have indicated winds of up to 69 mph with 29.2-foot waves (download best graphs). I haven't seen a lot of video out of Cape Cod but here is a little raw footage (NO AUDIO) by NECN and WBZ:
An oceanic storm missed most of Massachusetts on Sunday but buried residents of Cape Cod creating dangerous conditions on roadways from drifting snow. With a wind advisory through 2pm on Monday posted by the National Weather Service, most schools on the Cape were closed. The heavy wet snow accumulated to more than a foot on parts of the Cape on Sunday causing the ferry to Nantucket to be canceled.
ORIGINAL POST: A coastal snowstorm left significant accumulations yesterday and was VERY localized to the eastern Massachusetts, Rhode Island, coastal New Hampshire and coastal Maine area. Here are the latest snowfall accumulations as the storm finally pulls away from the U.S.:
New Bedford, MA: 15.5" (SnowMatrix)
Plymouth, MA: 14.0"
Stratham, NH: 6.5"
Sanford, ME: 6.0"
Durham, NH: 5.0" (SnowMatrix)
I posted a longer list of top Mass. accumulations in the Forums.
Later today, after all reports come in, I will post maps of the reports and a final radar animation.
One of our Forum users posted this excellent NASA satellite image from this morning:
The storm is now moving into Canada; here's a snapshot of the radar and our forecast map:
