`Tea Kettle` Lake-Effect Snow Event Thursday
I didn't get a chance, due to the cold weather reporting I was doing, to mention that there was a textbook "Tea Kettle" lake-effect event over Lake Ontario Thursday. This happens when a lake-effect snow band sets up over the middle of the lake, but winds are insufficient to blow it inland (the lake "boils over" with snow). There is a radar animation of it below -- drag the time bar back and forth to see the effect (it finally gets pushed to the South near the end of the loop).
