Subtropical Storm Gabrielle on Google Maps
Sub-Tropical Storm Gabrielle is off the Carolina shore this Saturday morning. According to our Google Hurricane Tracker (PREMIUM | PRO), the NHC is predicting landfall on the southern Outer Banks as a Tropical Storm Sunday afternoon, and our landfall thought is similar, although we believe she will be a hurricane.
Observations will be hard to come by. Like during Dean, the only government Buoy in the area is out of service (but scheduled to be fixed this month, again just a little too late). She is weak so far, but Joe Bastardi [BIO] (PRO) believes rapid development is possible, saying this morning in his blog:
