Storms Batter D.C., Baltimore - Damage Video
UPDATE: Here are some damage aerials from Chesapeake Beach, Maryland (courtesy WJLA) and a crane collapse in Baltimore (courtesy WJZ):
VIDEO SCRIPTS: WLJA is reporting a confirmed tornado hit Chesapeake Beach, MD. Strong storms swept through the state this afternoon. Tress and power lines reported down all over the area Early Thursday a cement truck overturned on I -70 near Frederick, closing the Freeway.
A crane collapsed in Maryland shortly after four in the evening (6/4) and officials said one person was temporarily trapped but has been rescued. There is currently no word on that person's condition. Fire officials said a tornado touched down in Tracy's Landing, Maryland, but there are no reports of damage or injuries as of yet. Power has been knocked out in several areas and reports of multiple car accidents have been made as well.

High winds and possible tornadoes are battering Washington D.C. this hour... a huge line of storms moving through the city, causing unusually large Severe Thunderstorm Warnings (one stretching from the north Maryland border to the south end of the state). The video below, showing radar and warnings in 3-D with Google Earth, was taped as the storms moved in. More information as it becomes available.

Some of the winds on the Base Velocity radar image from AccuWeather.com RadarPlus were clocked at over 64 knots (74 mph). Of course, those images are notoriously inaccurate for ground truth because the radar beam goes up above the earth as it goes out... but with the short distance from the radar dome, those readings probably weren't far off.
RadarPlus detected over 17,000 lightning strikes during the last two hours.
