Storm Chaser Arrested, WY Snow and Tornado
In strange weather news this morning, a storm chaser was arrested and held in jail on $2000 bond yesterday in Texas. Read more about it and leave comments in our Forums.
In other weird* news, a tornado was reported yesterday in Casper, Wyoming [Google Map]. The report from the NWS Storm Spotter (displayed on the StormMatrix) says: "CAR WAS LIFTED AND SURROUNDED BY DEBRIS ON WYOMING BOULEVARD BETWEEN CASPER MOUNTAIN ROAD AND MCKINLEY."
Casper Mountain, interestingly enough, was the site of 21 inches of snow last week. In fact, they are still trying to get all the snow off of Highway 130 in southern Wyoming; the road is (normally) closed during the winter because it is unpassable due to snow... see the Associated Press photo below.

*Maybe it's not that weird - TornadoProject.com reports 25 tornadoes between 1962 and 1995 in Natrona County... of course, it's a huge county, with over 5,000 square miles of land, roughly the size of Connecticut, which has reported 67 tornadoes during that period.
**I originally thought this was a person's name, but was corrected by blog reader Jasmine -- it is actually a newspaper. Still funny. You can't beat that for a newspaper name! The only problem is that when the newspaper guy throws it to you, it just comes back to him! (I'll be here all week).
