Snowfall Amounts From This Week
It's important to remember, in the face of all the tornado and severe weather coverage this week, that there has been significant snowfall across the nation. The northern part of the so-called "two-sided storm" has brought some pretty impressive amounts to the less-populous area of New England (updated 11PM 3/2):
Killington, VT: 19.0"
Rumford, ME: 12.5"
Peru, NY: 10.6"
Hillsborough, NH: 10.3"
Groton & Charlemont, MA: 4.0"
And the blizzard dropped even more impressive amounts in the Northern Plains and Great Lakes (photo at right courtesy wbob from Oshkosh, Wisconsin earlier today):
Finland, MN: 25.0"
Bayfield, WI: 21.5"
Carroll, IA: 17.0"
Bryant, SD: 16.0"
Blain county, ID: 15.3"
Rogers City, MI: 16.0"

Omaha, NE: 12.8"
The blizzard is long gone but still affecting North Dakota -- this report just came in:
THE NORTH DAKOTA HIGHWAY PATROL REPORTS THAT INTERSTATE 94 FROM BISMARCK TO FARGO WILL BE CLOSED AS OF 5 PM CST. SNOW PLOWS ARE UNABLE TO KEEP UP WITH DRIFTING SNOW... AND ARE BEING PULLED.
