Snails, Er, Wind to Attack Northeast
According to my forecast on Premium, we're going to have rain Saturday, turning to snails on Sunday here in Central Pennsylvania.
No, wait, that's our "artistic" way of representing wind, my apologies. And one of the strongest windstorms this season will indeed be attacking the Northeast this weekend.
The maps above show where the high winds will be located on Saturday and Sunday; locations which are in-between the two will see their highest winds Saturday night.
We're also concerned about beach erosion and large waves which will accompany the winds Saturday on the New England coast. The WaveWatch III Computer Forecast Model [JessePedia] predicts that 12-foot waves will be hitting Martha's Vineyard Sunday morning, with 18-foot waves getting close to the eastern Canadian Martimes. But the highest waves, predicted to be between 24 and 27 feet, will stay offshore.

Parts of eastern Canada could also be in for a foot and a half of snow. See Brett Anderson's blog (PREMIUM | PRO) for more information on the storm's affect on Canada.
