Significant Severe Weather Outbreak
A significant severe weather outbreak is likely on Thursday. To quote from our Weather Headlines (PREMIUM | PRO):

The clues are in the models, for example the GFS predicts CAPE (Convective Available Potential Energy, one of the main severe weather indicators) will be over 1500 in parts of the Deep South on Thursday (see map above from our Pro site). The more CAPE the better for storms, but 1500 is generally the number that forecasters look to for severe weather outbreaks. We'll talk more about additional severe weather indices as this week moves forward.
