Severe Outbreak For Ohio Valley
AccuWeather.com is forecasting an outbreak of severe weather over the Ohio Valley today. To quote from our Breaking Weather News Page:
The government's Storm Prediction Center has issued a Moderate Risk for severe storms for parts of the Ohio Valley today. Since this risk has been in place since yesterday, they are serious about this forecast. They say in their Public Severe Weather Outlook:
THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION. [WE ARE] FORECASTING THE DEVELOPMENT OF DAMAGING WINDS AND ISOLATED STRONG TORNADOES OVER PARTS OF THE OHIO VALLEY AND WESTERN NY/PA THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT. A BAND OF STORMS CURRENTLY EXTENDS FROM WRN INDIANA SOUTH-SOUTHWESTWARD INTO NERN AR. THESE STORMS ARE EXPECTED TO INTENSIFY THROUGH THE DAY AS TEMPERATURES WARM AND DESTABILIZE THE ATMOSPHERE. THE SEVERE WEATHER IS EXPECTED TO WEAKEN BEFORE MIDNIGHT AS THE SURFACE TEMPERATURES COOL AND THE ATMOSPHERE BEGINS TO STABILIZE.
