Severe Outbreak Day 3, Tornado Photos
The SPC [JessePedia] has issued a Moderate Risk this Friday for parts of Texas, indicating that the stakes are higher today than during yesterday's severe weather outbreak, in which 4 tornadoes were reported in Oklahoma. Yesterday's outbreak was a bit of a snoozer, outside of those tornado reports, with a total of only 14 severe weather reports compared to Wednesday's 241.
Today is the third day of the severe weather outbreak in the Plains. Wednesday's extreme outbreak which spawned dozens of tornadoes, two of which are shown below, along with a heartwrenching damage photo out of Holly, Colorado (more Holly damage photos).
I was storm chasing in the TX Panhandle yesterday and caught four tornadoes. The most impressive one developed off the Caprock and moved north-northeast toward Clarendon, TX. It was on the ground for 15-20 minutes. Photos taken 7 miles NNW of Turkey, TX. -- Dorian J. Burnette
