Rough Storms in Texas This Morning

At 8:30 Central Time, supercell thunderstorms are racing northeastward into central Texas. These storms have caused nearly 10,000 cloud-to-ground lightning strikes in the past two hours.

The area just dropped out of a Tornado Watch, and overnight and this morning, 17 Severe Thunderstorm Warnings and 4 Tornado Warnings have been issued in Texas. Hail up to 1" in diameter has been reported by spotters.

These storms will continue today in Texas and the severe threat will move eastward into the Deep South for Monday.
