River Bank Collapses, Floods China Villages
The flooding continues in China; Canada.com reports that a river bank collapsed overnight, flooding 11 villages of sleeping people. 9cm (3.54 inches) of rain fell in two hours overnight. 3,500 people live in the village, which was inundated by as much as 2 meters (6 feet) of water.
An incredible 378,000 people have been evacuated from southern China already, and at least 55 have been killed by this latest round of flooding, which the government estimates is the worst in 30 years.

The disasters come amid what the government says is the worst summer flooding in parts of China in three decades. At least 55 people have been killed and 12 are missing in Fujian and two other provinces since late May from heavy rains that have caused floods and landslides and washed away part of a rail-link between Beijing and Hong Kong.
