You are correct, Joe and the system is not going unnoticed here at AccuWeather. I was just looking at a satellite loop of it. It clearly has a low pressure system, according to buoy/ship observations. In fact it's even strong enough to be acknowledged as a storm center by the (non-tropical) Model Spread [JessePedia] (see right). The circulation is clear; the problem with the system thus far is a lack of thunderstorms / heavy rain with it, though at 1:15 p.m. there had been about 30 lightning strikes detected on its western edge within the last two hours (see below).
