Radars From Plains Storms, More Tornados Today
There were 8 tornado reports yesterday in the Plains and Midwest, with 4.25" diameter hail and 75 mph winds reported. The news is full of damage reports but I haven't seen any injuries fortunately. A Moderate Risk was in effect by the SPC yesterday and is again today; see our Headlines (shown at right) and Breaking Weather News Page (PREMIUM | PRO) for more information on today's outbreak. Here's a video shot from a helicopter of the Leavenworth County, KS tornado yesterday - check the Raw Video Player at right for damage video from the same storm.
Here are a couple of radars that I saved off from MapSpace™ (formerly known as Enhanced Radar); peep that big supercell in Oklahoma at 3:30 in the morning - they go all night long out there.
Here's a map of the storm reports; for details see The WeatherMatrix StormMatrix.
