I talked earlier about the severe storms moving in from Ohio and the 40-degree temperature gradient between west-central and central Pennsylvania. Now, the National Weather Service has confirmed a tornado touchdown with damage at 4:15 PM in Greensburg, Pennsylvania according to WPXI, who has photos, and WTAE has videos of the twister. On the velocity images, rotation could be detected before and after the tornado struck. You can download a high-res reflectivity and velocity movie in Quicktime format.
The storms also brought large hail (to two inches in diameter) and over 8,000 lightning strikes were measured in two hours in eastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania:
