Radar: Deadly Tornado Hits LA

A deadly tornado hit the town of New Iberia in Louisiana this afternoon around 4 PM local time. Reports were received by the NWS [JessePedia] in Lake Charles, Lousiana this evening, saying:
KPLC has additional information. They say that one third of the county is without power tonight.
I have uploaded some radar loops and images to this location. You can see the "hook echo" near the locations of the two tornado reports below (shown with X's).
New Iberia is a town dear to my heart and my thoughts go out to the people there. Exactly 14 years ago, to the day, I was volunteering in that town to help rebuild homes damaged by Hurricane Andrew (with Habitat for Humanity). You can read my previous blog entry about that trip here.
