Quick Florida Rain Update - $45m Potato Damage
A quick update on the rain in Florida... although I haven't seen any additional rainfall spotter reports since those I posted near 2 feet yesterday, this article says that "An unofficial gauge southeast of Ormond Beach recorded nearly 25 inches" and "Some areas of Flagler County have received 2 1/2 feet of rain since Sunday." Daytona Beach continues to crush their previous "Wettest May ever (since 1923)" record, sitting at 19.23" this morning vs. the old record of 12.33" in 1976, according to William Schmitz, Service Climatologist/Meteorologist with the NOAA Southeast Regional Climate Center, who continues to update this webpage with various local stats.
