Plenty of Snow Before Christmas in Northeast?
I don't want to get people *too* excited, but the AccuWeather Forecast Database has plenty of snow north of the Mason-Dixon line between now and Christmas. Witness this forecast for State College, Pennsylvania, home of AccuWeather HQ [Google Map]:
And here's a total snowfall map through December 22nd (note that this does NOT show snow on the ground, some or all of it could melt before Christmas, this is total snow fall accumulated hour to hour):
Again, I'm not saying this WILL come true, like everything else on AccuWeather.com, it is a FORECAST which could change. And I'm also not saying that we won't have warm spells between now and Christmas -- we could approach 60 next week here in State College! My point is only that winter is *not* over before it begins.
I only point this out because thus far this winter, major snow storms have not appeared this far out in the AccuWeather.com forecast, certainly not this many of them. So, for those of you readers who have declared that winter is over before the season officially begins... stay tuned!
