Pileup in Charlotte, Non-Weather Cause
WSOC-TV is reporting that a pileup occurred on I-85 near Charlotte, NC shortly before noon today, involving "several cars and a dump truck" colliding into a jackknifed tractor trailer. During these kinds of traffic accidents, one often looks to the weather for a cause, but looks like we can't blame Mother Nature this time. Not only does the video capture on their site show a sunny day, but an animation from RadarPlus confirms that, although heavy thunderstorms have moved through the Mecklenburg County area this afternoon, the sky was rain-free until after 1 p.m.
