Photos: Rainbow, Sunset, Snow, Spring
A flurry of weather photos have been submitted to our Photo Gallery in the past week and I wanted to highlight some of them. I have inserted the users' latest photos below; when those become stale, the permalinks will get you directly into their gallery, by category.
I couldn't even show all of the submissions below. Remember, you can always see the last 50 photos uploaded, as well as the last 50 Moderator's Picks, from the front page of the Photo Gallery website.
First from Bill (w6ypf) in Altadena, California, a beautiful rainbow (permalink) taken at his house on March 3rd:
Bill says: This terrific Rainbow ended in the hills just above my house. I was tempted to hike up and look for the "Pot O' Gold" but I knew it was fruitless.
This photo was taken just days before Bill put up his new weather webcam. Murphy's law (huh?) dictates that this will be the last rainbow Bill will see for a long time :)
User wbob from Oshkosh, Wisconsin sent in some great photos of the three feet of snow on the ground there (permalink):
Elaine uploaded some photos (permalink) from Unionville, PA during the Blizzard of 2006:
And janicelynn shares some stunning sunset photos taken last week (permalink) in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She says "This is one of the best sunsets I have seen..."
But both FXDWG (from Newburyport, MA) (permalink) and barclay (from Portsmouth, VA) (permalink) are looking forward to Spring...
And finally, our very own Brian Clark (PREMIUM | PRO) has uploaded another set of photos from Mount Washington that he took yesterday (permalink). Brian says: "We had checked out the snowfields on Monday and decided they would be decent to ski if we got the chance. So, that's what we did. We ended up taking two runs and it was a blast! Neil took some really good pictures of me skiing this afternoon that I have posted to my AccuWeather photo gallery. I also took a lot of good pictures early this afternoon and then some excellent sunset pictures."
