Photos: I`m in an 808 State
808 State is a techno band, whose CD I almost brought to work today, but instead chose New Order. 808 refers to the drum machine introduced in 1980 (which my father, though an electronic musician, did not own, his later drum machines and sampling CDs referred to a certain "thump" as "TR808").
But I often find myself saying "I'm in an 808 state" when the clock in the car reads 8:08, or just now, when the computer pointed out that the date is 8/08.
In any case, I took this as an excuse to point out that my weather webcam at home got some great cloud shots today, including some sort of a rainbow halo (upper left of this photo, see also definitions), while I was too lazy or forgetful to bring my camera on my morning walk OR to work with me.
