Photo: Lightning Digs Big Hole in Plane
Planes getting hit by lightning is fairly common news these days, but rarely do we get to see the damage that is done. This article tells the story of how a plane leaving Iceland yesterday was hit by lightning, gouging a big hole in the nose (see photo). Although lightning hitting planes is not unusual, Icelandicair planes are usually only hit once per year, with little damage.
