Photo Challenge: Weather in the City
On Sept. 28, 2005, I blogged that we had launched the AccuWeather.com Photo Gallery. Hundreds of thousands of photos and videos later, tens of thousands of you have shared amazing content.

This year, we're launching a "Weather in the City" photo challenge. We're looking for beautiful, high-resolution cityscapes, landmarks and buildings from across the globe, like the ones below. So register for an account today at Photo.AccuWeather.com and show us your best!
This is to improve upon the excellent weather and nature photos that we've received over the years (check out my selection of the Top 10 Breathtaking AccuWeather.com Photos, or my top 200 photos).
To register for an account, click on the "Register to Upload" link at http://photo.accuweather.com. Fill out the form, submit it, then check your email for instructions on activating your new account. Make sure to check your spam or junk mail box if you do not see the email.
Once you've clicked on the link in the email to activate your account, return to http://photo.accuweather.com to login and upload photos (Step 1). After you select and submit your photos (Step 2), you'll need to fill in some basic information such as location, date and tags. Submit that page (Step 3 - not shown), and your photos will be sent to our moderators; you will receive an email when they have been approved. If you have trouble, contact us.
If you take photos or videos with your phone, email them to yourself or save them from your favorite Social Network, so that you can upload to our Photo Gallery!
A brief history of the AccuWeather.com Photo Gallery:
I envisioned, programmed and designed the gallery in 2005 so that you, the viewer, could share your photos with AccuWeather. On Sept. 28, 2005, I blogged about its launch.
Just after Christmas in 2008, we added a button to post your photos to an up-and-coming Social Media network called "Facebook."
In 2009, we relaunched the gallery and added the ability to upload videos, improved navigation, included a rating function, new ways to search (such as Most Commented and Most Viewed) and a gamification leader board, based on uploads this week, month and overall. Later in 2009, we added Tag Clouds, EXIF data and more.
