Over 80 Lightning Strike Photos In 2 Days!
Between Local Storm Chaser Ron Shawley and myself, we captured over 80 lightning strikes in the last two days (51 from him yesterday evening at Yellow Creek State Park down near Indiana, Pennsylvania [Google Map] and 31 from me Tuesday evening at my house here in State College).
On my advice, Ron was also using a Kodak Z650 to do Quicktime movies and picking out the frames manually (kind of painful but not as bad as capturing Hi-8 video on the computer). We didn't try to keep our shutters open because you can only do that 8 seconds with these cameras and we wouldn't have gotten many pics.
You can also see the entire clip from Ron that he clipped the lightning shots from. Here's a short clip showing Ron's best strike:

And here's a clip of all the "unusual" strikes that I got Tuesday night (slowed down to 1/2 speed):

In the end, none of them compared to Henry's awesome shot from Tuesday, but it was still fun -- we don't get a lot of lightning here in Central PA, and this June has been exceptional.
COMING SOON: MORE VIDEOS FROM THE STORMS FROM RON AND MYSELF
