Over 3 Feet of Snow in Maine
A slow-moving, heavy snowstorm has hit Maine. It began on Christmas Day and continued on December 26th.
Some of the snowfall totals have been immense, with over 3 feet of snow falling. NOTE: The list below has been updated on 12/27/05.
Here are totals over 2 feet:

PLAISTED, ME: 38.0"
MADAWASKA, ME: 37.0"
CARIBOU, ME: 31.7"
PORTAGE, ME: 31.0"
PORTAGE, ME: LAKE, ME: 31.0"
FORT, ME: KENT, ME: 30.5"
WASHBURN, ME: 30.0"
LILLE, ME: 27.0"
MAPLETON, ME: 27.0"
ALLAGASH, ME: 26.5"
Totals fall off as you approach the coast, and some places received freezing rain. In fact, Sebec Lake, Maine reported 1 inch of freezing rain!
The same storm gave select spots in the East some snowfall late on Christmas and on the 26th, as far south as Flat Top mountain in southwest North Carolina.
