Ophelia Could Dis PA Drought

Noting that many forecasting models are now looking for Ophelia to move out to sea*, user ANTHONYS noted on the WeatherMatrix Boards that he was disappointed to hear this, as a Pennsylvanian, because of the drought we're having here.

I agree with his disappointment, and submit this photo that I took on the way home last night as evidence of our continuing drought:

This is Spring Creek at the Country Club on Branch Road here in State College, Pennsylvania. I've never seen it as dry as it has been here this summer.

Short-term, lawns are actually doing better now than they were at the beginning of July (see photo #1 & photo #2 of my lawn then, and also a neighbor's lawn).

*Official government & AccuWeather forecasts are still showing a landfall in the Carolinas, as of 9pm Saturday.
